ivi stands for Java Virtual Interface and is a new project that aims to create a single management interface for VMware Infrastructure 3, Xen, KVM, and OpenVZ. ivi currently uses the VI SDK and XenApi to facilitate communications with VMware and Xen servers, and as soon as libvirt can be compiled on OS X, libvirt will replace the XenApi.
